Carla Saunders has served as Lead Counsel at Maximus since December 2025, leading the Legal and Contracts function and providing strategic counsel on governance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
With a focus on pragmatic and collaborative problem-solving, Saunders partners with leaders across the organization to navigate complex legal landscapes and support business growth.
Saunders brings over a decade of experience in corporate/commercial law, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and facilitating innovative change. Her expertise with leading national Canadian and international organizations earned her a number of accolades, including a finalist position for the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association’s “In-House Counsel Up & Comer” award.
Saunders holds an MBA and a JD from the University of New Brunswick, and is a Member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador (non-practicing), and the Canadian Bar Association. She is a Student Mentor at the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Law.
